BK9103總線耦合器將PROFINET RT與模塊化、可擴(kuò)展的電子接線端子連接起來(lái)。一個(gè)單元由一個(gè)總線耦合器、1到64個(gè)端子（255個(gè)帶K總線擴(kuò)展）和一個(gè)端部端子組成。
總線耦合器識(shí)別它們所連接的端子，并自動(dòng)將輸入和輸出分配給過(guò)程圖像的單詞。BK9103總線耦合器支持10 Mbit/s和100 Mbit/s以太網(wǎng)。通過(guò)普通RJ45連接器連接。IP地址在DIP開(kāi)關(guān)上設(shè)置（偏移到可自由選擇的起始地址）。在具有DHCP（用于將邏輯IP地址分配給物理節(jié)點(diǎn)地址[MAC-ID]的服務(wù)）的網(wǎng)絡(luò)中，總線耦合器從DHCP服務(wù)器獲得其IP地址。
